My Tattoo: Session 2: Shading

Session 2: March 7, 2009 (3 hrs)
Shading started. Still hurt, but less than outlining two weeks ago. Starting to look more like a tattoo. Ink is still dark. Later colour should settle down one shade. Next sessison, more shading. One month later.... Still can't believe I'm doing it!

  1. Looking good!

Finally, here are some pics of my arm tattoos (right and left). Sorry, it took so long. I guess I'm a little shy about showing them!

  2. Love the details!! Look good! Did you do the design yourself? Don't be shy...Can you send me a waist up shot? Mine is gonna be grey scale, no colours. scabbing now. Itchy. Did yours hurt? Mine hurt a bit but I wanted it enough to withstand the pain.

  3. I'm afraid to blow my cover if I send any more pics! Most of the tattoo work was done in Bali. The tattoo artist and his friend were responsible for the design and I offered suggestions for coloring.

It didn't hurt too much, but they were using homemade equipment and sometimes the power would cut out and the needle would just stop in my skin. That was a little scary!

  5. Sorry! That was totally unwarranted mysteriousness on my part. I just usually keep my tats covered in daily life. ;)

  6. Yep me too. Unless I go to a beach (rarely), I'm not planning to reveal in its entirety in public. It's only for the few people in my life that I know who won't lay judgement. I guess I can still wear t-shirts and show a little band around my arm, that's about it for strangers. You know with Yakuza type of tats that I have, I can't go to a public hotspring in Japan? Well, not that I plan to go to one in the near future. That's fine by me.
