Cool photo! Yes, tattoos are very spiritual. I've always thought about them as something hidden that is brought to the surface. That whole process of becoming visible, from deciding what you want to get tattooed to actually going through the pain of getting it done, is very powerful.
I do have a theory about tattoos: I always think people who want to be tatooed tend to be brave and are passionate about things. On the other hand, people who don't want be tattooed because they don't want anything permanent on them tend to be either too conservative or wishy-washy in general...exactly the types of people I want to avoid. I'm attracted to people who are direct, eccentric and open-minded. By getting a big tattoo on me will help me screen out the ones who are judegmental and narrow-minded. I think of it as a way of drawing the positive kind of people to me and warding off the negative kind at the same time. So I do have a reason to get a tattoo. It's not an impulsive decision at all.
